New Year's!

We're going to ski 5 days straight next week! Time to get in shape...

Mon 12/28: Biked 40 min, swam 15 laps. Upper body was pretty sore while swimming, so didn't go too hard.

Tue 12/29: Hiked http://www.wta.org/go-hiking/hikes/poo-poo-point-chirico-trail. There was snow at the top! Quads were a little sore at first, but was ok after warming up.

Wed 12/30: Off, walked around Seattle. Really needed an off day. Bought so many oysters! Yumyum.

Thu 12/31: Biked 40 min, swam 20 laps. Wore really baggy swimsuit today... felt like I had to use a lot of energy. Arms pretty sore after.

Fri 1/1: Omg my arms are so sore. Biked 50 min, legs were sore so I had to go really easy, couldn't really get my heart rate above 130. Back also started hurting quite a bit, which isn't good. I think I'm going to take the next two days to rest in prep for SKIING!

Sat 1/2: Off, rest is good. Spent a lot of time in my ski boots (for fun) and now my feet kind of hurt. Yay.

Sun 1/3: Core, right back is a bit sore from biking I'm assuming.

Christmas!

Last half year was very sad exercise-wise. Stress fracture = no running. Then I did a bunch of upper body stuff and hurt my wrist, so I pretty much couldn't do anything (even typing hurt for a week). Then I thought my stress fracture was getting better and ran/DDR'd a bit and that hurt so turns out it still isn't better. And my wrist still isn't completely better. But at least I can type, and mostly bike/swim.
My rehab has basically been: theraband/calf raises every day to strengthen my foot, and nothing really for my wrist. Probably should go see doctors again at some point.

Wed 12/23: Biked ~20min.

Thu 12/24: Biked 25 min. Work so empty.

Fri 12/25: Biked 10 min, then plane to Seattle!

Sat 12/26: Biked 25 min, swam 25 laps. Arms/shoulders were getting tired while swimming. Upper body so weak.

Sun 12/27: Biked 45 min, swam 15 laps.

Mon 7/20: Off.

Tue 7/21: Lifting. Did bench again, 3 sets 10x95, then a set at 5x115, was pretty easy. Not even sore after :). Did more arms after.

Wed 7/22: Off.

Thu 7/23: Shoulders kind of sore, did lots of arms.

Fri 7/24: Off, Miyazaki marathon!

Sat 7/25: Off, garlic festival! Watched lots of league with Wesley.

Sun 7/26: Lots of body weight stuff.

Back to lifting

Mon 7/13: Off.

Tue 7/14: First day lifting in forever! Just did bench, 4x10@95, then cooldown 20@45. Also did some abs and biceps.

Wed 7/15: Off, pecs and abs sore.

Thu 7/16: Arm day: biceps, triceps, some shoulders. Pecs still a bit sore.

Fri 7/17: Off, slight sore throat so WFH. Got orenchi! So good.

Sat 7/18: James' birthday, got Oxtail soup for dinner and played some games.

Sun 7/19: Obon festival, and started marathoning Code Geass!

Wednesday, July 8, 2015

Mon 7/6: My life is maybe back to normal again? Maybe?

Tue 7/7: Did first part of fitness assessment at the gym. They made me do as many pushups as I could in a minute... with a gray thing under my chest so I could only go down half way o_O. I went way too fast and totally crashed after like 45s. So I had to stop at 75... Also was lazy and stopped the plank after 2 min because he was like there's no point in going more. Also usually they do a 1.5mi run. Where you're supposed to go as fast as you can. I was like "you crazy? I wouldn't even want to do that if I were healthy!" Would totally screw me over...

Wed 7/8: Had a 2.5 hour dental appointment, which was initially supposed to be just a teeth cleaning, but I showed interest in invisalign so they looked at my mouth some more. The dentist said I could technically do invisalign but my teeth are so messed up that it might be better to do braces... Also the receptionist was such an airhead and kept trying to flirt with me o_O. Then had a 2 hour podiatrist appointment, mostly because I waited in the lobby/room for an hour. Turns out I have a stress fracture :(. Into the boot I go! 6 weeks of this. At least Chase is gonna start carpooling with me so I don't have to worry about driving and taking it on/off.

Thu 7/9: First full day in boot. So nice not having to drive to work. Feel bad not exercising at all.

Fri 7/10: Costco!

Sat 7/11: Mongolian BBQ! Did some abs and pushups in the morning so I wouldn't feel bad about eating a lot xD. There was a One Direction concert at Levi's Stadium so I walked/biked around a bit.

Sun 7/12: Apparently my pecs are sore when I try to do pushups o_O. Fun day with Jenny! Omg we got a pork foot with bamboo. So good. And lots of board games / sushi go.
Mon 6/29: Swam more and jetskiied, then picked more cherries and went shopping on the way back home.

Tue 6/39: Got MRI! Then went to get car maintenance but tire pressure light came on...  Dealership said they saw a nail... Went to Costco after work but they couldn't find it.

Wed 7/1: Yay end of Q2. Flat tire, so fixed it before going to work. Got Costco card and got tire fixed.

Thu 7/2: Got annual physical and some blood tests. Costco after work/dinner!

Fri 7/3: Yay no work, Carrie/Allen came to visit so we hung out with Averites at JHsu's and made lots of dumplings :D. Also I'm really bad at drawing... Also more Costco.

Sat 7/4: Happy Independence Day! Played ~3 hours of really really really intense DDR, saw fireworks at Shoreline Parked, and hung out at LinkedIn a lot. Then KARAOKEEE! :D

Sun 7/5: I think I exercised a bit too hard yesterday... My foot hurts again... Good thing I have a follow up appointment on Wednesday.

Time to fix everything

Mon 6/22: 12mi bike. Stopped by auto body shop, apparently only $250 to fix.

Tue 6/23: Meet with podiatrist, got X-Ray, scheduled MRI. Auto shop ordered parts. Had to wake up at 6:40am qq but got to work by 8:40!

Wed 6/24: Auto parts still not in, 11mi bike.

Thu 6/25: Got car fixed!

Fri 6/26: Leaving for Seattle!

Sat 6/27: Hung out in Leavenworth, picked cherries in Wenatchee, and swam/dove a bunch in Lake Chelan.

Sun 6/28: Swam more and saw Grand Coulee Dam.
6/15-18: I hate being hurt. Nothing happened this week :(. Tried to get it checked out but the chiropractor wasn't in network. Have some scheduled for next week though.

6/19-21: VEGASSSSS so fun :D. Lots of clubbing and staying up late chatting and driving and Jama missing out :(.

Tuesday, June 9, 2015

Mon 6/8: Biked 11mi, more rest.

Tue 6/9: Biked 11mi, ran 5mi, HH since ankle felt better.

Wed 6/10: Biked 11mi. Kelvin wanted to run an hour so we ran to MTV and back... finished in 58 minutes, 8.3mi. Super fast and super tired after.

Thu 6/11: Forgot my shorts so ran with sweatpants, which was pretty uncomfortable. To bay trail and back, 6.7mi. Had to keep stopping to adjust my pants to keep them rolled up and like shorts.
PM: Nnnnnoooooo my foot got totally screwed up. I can't jump or push off my right foot

Fri 6/12: Dang this is really bad. Need to rest...

Sat 6/13: More rest. Played board games with coworkers and James Chang.

Sun 6/14: Celebrated Jenny's bday at Santa Cruz and strawberry picking! Ran at the beach and around the neighborhood a bit before sleeping, ~1mi.

Tuesday, June 2, 2015

Mon 6/1: Super tired from last night... several ppl came to visit and we went to VIP Oriental! (on a Sunday, what? xD) HH, 5.2mi.

Tue 6/2: Ran with Justus, 10.4mi, MTV loop up Steven's Creek and back on Bay Trail then Mathilda. Apparently under 7min pace.

Wed 6/3: Ran with Charlie and Kelvin, HH 5mi. ~7min pace.

Thu 6/4: Up Mathilda and back on Borregas, with a bit of exploring. 7mi.

Fri 6/5: Bball!

Sat 6/6: To the water, 6mi.
PM: Went to David's housewarming! Kind of tweaked my ankle while walking outside... whoops.

Sun 6/7: Off, letting my ankle heal... :( Luckily, it's not too bad. I think I'll bike M/T and start running again on Wednesday.

Total: 33.6mi. Not bad.

Tuesday, May 26, 2015

Events every week

Mon 5/25: Happy Memorial Day! To gold and back, 5mi.

Tue 5/26: Calves pretty dang sore again. Worked out in the morning, HH after work 4.5mi. 11mi bike.

Wed 5/27: 8.3mi, HH to MTV campus and back. Ran with Justus and Kelvin, super fun. Also first long run in a while and felt really good! 11mi bike.

Thu 5/28: Off. OMGOMGSKJFDSOMG EPIK HIGH.

Fri 5/29: Bball, then 6mi to water and back.

Sat 5/30: Hiked PG&E finally! PM: DDR with Allen! Epik High Marathon so fun!

Sun 5/31: To El Camino, 6.8mi.

Total: Ran 30.6 and biked 22.

Tuesday, May 19, 2015

So sore

Mon 5/18: Oh my gosh I'm so sore. All my leg muscles feel like they can't move. This is so ridiculous, was definitely not expecting it to be this bad. At least it doesn't feel like I hurt anything though.
PM: DDR, played all really easy songs but for like 2 hours.

Tue 5/19: PM: 3mi, Levi's.

Wed 5/20: Brought the gbike to LinkedIn, commuted on Greenbelt, 13mi. Gbike was so slow... and Greenbelt requires slowing down way too much. Went to James' after for interview practice.

Thu 5/21: Biked, 12mi. Ran after work, HH 5mi. Went to James' after for interview practice.

Fri 5/22: Biked, 11.7mi, played a lot of bball.

Sat 5/23: Rugged Maniac mud run, 3mi. Was pretty fun, lots of climbing and crawling, not much running. All the obstacles were easy (rings and the curved ramp, warped wall I guess were both doable with no problems). Crawling was not when the ground was rocky, though.

Sun 5/24: To the water and back, 6mi. Taco festival, then lots and lots of games. Ka visited! Also went to single barrel.

Total: Ran 17 and biked 35.7.

Tuesday, May 12, 2015

Totally ready for this 12k race

Mon 5/11: Off.

Tue 5/12: 3mi, Levi's. Calves still sore, quad better.

Wed 5/13: Hetch Hetchy, 5mi.

Thu 5/14: Bike to work day, got my biked fixed and a free shirt without actually biking xD. PM: Guadelupe to Gold and back, 5mi. Felt pretty good during the run, but calves were quite sore afterwards.

Fri 5/15: Basketball! Played a lot.

Sat 5/16: Levi's 3mi, then off to SF!

Sun 5/17: Bay to Breakers! We woke up at 5:30 and took the muni to get to the start line by 6:30. Jogged around a bit and got warmed up to line up in the front of corral A by 7:15, which was much too early. Watched a bunch of records being announced and random other announce-y (like hey look, everybody is throwing tortillas around!) things for 45 minutes until we finally got to start. Was a bit stiff at first but loosened up around a mile in. It wasn't too crowded since we went out at around 6:15 pace for the first mile. Jon and I stuck together for the first 4 miles (3 mile split was 20min but included Hayes' hill so it only got easier from there), drafted off each other a little bit during then, and then I took off. I started getting a bit of a side stitch around then too, and it kept getting worse and worse. I blame the fact that I couldn't use the bathroom for a whole 45 minutes before the start because I would have lost my place in the front of the corral. Anyway, I kept passing people until around mile 5.5, when this guy in a banana suit passed me. He wasn't going that much faster, but I decided he would be a good guy to keep up with, so we kind of gradually kept speeding up and pushing each other. Around 800m from the end, I decided to start kicking even though by this point my stomach was in quite a bit of pain, and then he noticed when I passed him and kicked as well, finishing a few seconds before me. Turns out he went to the same HS as Justine and Chris Wong. Small world. Anyway, when I passed the finish line the clock said around 49:50 and I was really happy for going under 50 since that was my original goal. Took me around 5 minutes and another guy saying he finished in 48 to realize that was the first gun time so I actually finished in under 48! The race felt really good other than that stupid side stitch (yay for not actually racing until the very end). My quads were really sore afterwards though, so jogging back to Jon's was quite difficult / I kept saying to slow down. The free food, drinks, and swag made it all ok though. Race time was 47:24 (yay first PR in over a year! - and longest race ever by far!), 21st in division, 6:22 pace overall, Hayes' hill in 3:59.44. Maybe next year we'll dress up and be more interesting (but still actually run it, fo sho). ~11mi total.
Went to the panhandle and enjoyed all the festivities afterwards, was super fun!

Total: 27mi.

Starting the bike commute!

Mon 5/4: AM: First day biking to work, 5.5mi. Accidentally went straight on Arques instead of turning right on Fair Oaks, but it's actually pretty easy going this way because there are a lot fewer cars. Then ran Hetch Hetchy, 5mi. Felt pretty good except my R knee was a little tired.
PM: Biked back, actually went the right way for once! 5.5mi.
Yay signed up for Rugged Maniac!

Tue 5/5: AM: So tired... woke up at 7:40. Biked 5.5mi.
PM: Hetch Hetchy, 5mi. Biked back home 5.5mi.

Wed 5/6: AM: Waking up so early these days. Biked 5.5mi.
PM: Biked 5.5mi then DDR! Got a flat tire on the way home... :( Good thing there's the fix-a-flat class on Friday. Also, back kind of hurts, I think it's from biking.

Thu 5/7: Off. Visited Stanford and Teaspoon.

Fri 5/8: Biked 5.5mi, no fix-a-flat class so was all a waste. Got ditched so had to run to basketball, 2.6mi with a backpack. Played like 5 games then got a ride back with Randy.

Sat 5/9: 6.8mi, El Camino. R quad started feeling really sore at night for some reason...

Sun 5/10: Mother's Day! Was gonna run a workout, but quad was still a bit sore so decided to take it easy. Up San Tomas trail to the water and back on Guadelupe, 6.1mi. At least back is feeling mostly better by now.

Total: Biked 38.5 and ran 25.5.

Wednesday, April 29, 2015

Mon 4/27: Played DDR with some coworkers after work, then ran to James' to pick up my water bottle. 1.2mi.

Tue 4/28: 3.5mi, on Guadelupe River Trail from Tasman to Thamien park.

Wed 4/29: Off.

Thu 4/30: 6.8mi, to El Camino.

Fri 5/1: Picked up my bike from Mountain View office and biked back home, around 16mi total. DDR after.

Sat 5/2: Levi's, 3mi. Hung out in SF, James (Lu) and Aho stayed over :).

Sun 5/3: DDR.

Total: Biked 16 and ran 14.5.

Monday, April 27, 2015

3 weeks until Bay to Breakers!

Mon 4/20: Off.

Tue 4/21: Levi's 3mi. My body is not happy.

Wed 4/22: Levi's 3mi.

Thu 4/23: Off. Lots of board games and drank to celebrate Stacy joining and Kwong's new job.

Fri 4/24: Basketball, pretty chill.

Sat 4/25: Levi's 3mi.

Sun 4/26: Up Guadelupe River trail to the water, then back on Lafeyette, 6mi. Took a break at the water, felt nice.

Tuesday, April 7, 2015

Mon 4/6: Levi's, arch was hurting pretty bad again... I think I ran way too hard yesterday... Calves were also sore, I think those are very related to the arch issue. 3mi.

Tue 4/7: Levi's again, 3mi.

Wed 4/8: Off.

4/9-19: Vacation in Japan! Only ran once, but really needed that break... Also I tripped on a stair and bruised my foot so I couldn't run even if i wanted to. o_O

Tuesday, March 31, 2015

Mon 3/30: Levi's, 3mi.

Tue 3/31: Hetch Hetchy, 5mi. Did lots of exercises afterwards... just realized I'm going to hot springs and stuff in Japan so I should do more upper body before then xD. Also I should be doing more squats.

Wed 4/1: No April fool's things other than obvious fb posts. Slept in so didn't make the bus / run in the morning. Played some easy DDR at night.

Thu 4/2: Ran to El Camino and back again, 6.8mi.

Fri 4/3: No basketball :(. Ran after I got home instead, San Tomas Trail to Gold Street to the dock, then back on Guadelupe River Trail. 6mi.

Sat 4/4: Birthday was super fun! Went hiking / more like walking with the team at Coyote Hills, then lunch at Spices. Met the guy who founded hireteammate.com, he was really interested in me since I'm abc (everybody else is fob who needs H1B visa supported). Then went karaoke, little sheep, lattea, and board games!

Sun 4/5: Ran all the way to Guadelupe River park... can't believe I actually made it. Started feeling bad for the last mile and a half, the rest of it felt awesome. ~12mi, ~8min pace.

Total: 32.8mi.

Monday, March 30, 2015

Fixed that sleep schedule

Mon 3/23: Off.

Tue 3/24: AM: Levi's 3mi.
PM: DDR!

Wed 3/25: First day taking the bus! Got to work by 9am and ran here in the morning :). Down Hetch Hetchy to Steven's Creek to the Creekside park, and back on Middlefield. ~5.5mi.

Thu 3/26: Down Mary and Evelyn then back, ~4mi.

Fri 3/27: Bball! Barely tweaked my ankle and jammed my left fourth finger a tiny bit. I should be more careful... Had a really nice long winning/scoring streak though.

Sat 3/28: Kept it short just to make sure my ankle would be fine, Levi's 3mi.

Sat 3/29: Ran up Guadelupe to Alviso Park, turned back around at the T. 9mi.
Was super dizzy/tired after the run for the rest of the day. Maybe I wasn't ready for such a long run... but I would rather blame the fact that I didn't eat lunch until 4pm.

Total: 24.5mi.

Back in it

Sun 3/15: Levi's, 3mi.

Mon 3/16: Levi's I think, 3mi.

Tue 3/17: DDR I think.

Wed 3/18: Off I think. Board games.

Thu 3/19: PM: Exploratory run in Encinal Park, Hetch Hetchy, Steven's creek, Moffet, and back... Probably ~7.5mi.

Fri 3/20: Basketball! Had a pretty big streak at the end :). Then another all nighter playing board games xD.

Sat 3/21: To El Camino and back, 6.8mi. Relatively straightforward.

Sun 3/22: Ran San Tomas trail to Bay Trail, around Twin Creeks, to Sunnyvale Baylands Park, and back. ~8mi. Wasn't going to run so long but felt good and wanted to keep exploring.

Total: 28.3mi.

Sunday, March 15, 2015

I miss running (Blacklight run and prep)

So this is a long one... since it's just prep for one race and I might as well not split it in half.

Thu 3/5: AM: First run in (what felt like) forever! Did Levi's, ~3mi. Running is so fun :). I was kind of scared that my pf arch pain would come back during the run, but it mostly held up ok.

Fri 3/6: Ran to the courts at Fair Oaks park, played bball with the team for around an hour, then ran back. ~2.5mi. Played some DDR after that but my legs were really tired from running, bball, and the squats that I did in the gym. After that, stayed up until 10am playing Dead of Winter with Wesley xD. Sleep scheduled so screwed up now... Also, late night (aka 10am) Carl's :D.

Sat 3/7: Off. Went to Jang Su Jang with James Chang and ate soo much.

Sun 3/8: Levi's, ~3mi.

Mon 3/9: PM: Levi's again, ~3mi. Was gonna run at work but brought a second tshirt instead of shorts... whoops.

Tue 3/10: DDR.

Wed 3/11: PM: Had a fun exploratory run around work, ~6.5mi (little extra for exploring the nooks and crannies...). Ran down Maude, to Middlefield station, through Google, on Hetch Hetchy Trail, to Steven's Creek Trail, and then back with a small loop by Samsung. Barely made it back in time for dinner, right at 7. I think I've realized that A lot of my arch pain is mental, as in when I think about it more, I might change the way I run, which actually makes it worse. I should be fine, really hoping it won't come back... I just won't run super super hard for 2 months or so (and do lots of lower leg strengthening), and it should get stronger.

Thu 3/12: Off.

Fri 3/13: AM: Levi's, ~3mi.

Sat 3/14: Blacklight run! Fun runs are so nice. LinkedIn paid part of our registration fees and we had a bus and a team and everything :). The whole time I'm worried about warming up and stuff and everybody's like man you're too competitive, take it easy etc. So my warm up was dancing in the pre-party and jumping like crazy trying to catch the free powder packs and glow sticks (I didn't get any... was really close though, landed at the people right in front of us!). Turns out that LinkedIn bought a pack of powder for each of us though so we ended up getting quite colorful.
Now for the actual run: One of my friends from Crossfit was there, so I ran with him the first mile or so. We started in the back of the 2nd flight (the first was VIPs), so it was a lot of squeezing between and going around walkers/joggers, probably going normal run pace or a bit faster. After that, I took off (~tempo pace I guess?) and started catching people. It was pretty dark the whole time; I was expecting more lights and music/powder stations (it seemed like they only had one every half mile or so). It was probably fine in the crowd since a lot of people wore lights, but none of the actual runners were decked out in swag. Anyway I kept passing people and eventually I saw the pickup truck following the leader and passed it too at the last powder station (well I didn't know it was the last one), but I kept running normally and before I knew it I passed the leader then immediately saw some dark signs that said "Finish". There were no lights there, so I was confused and asked out loud "Was that the finish? Wait we're done?" since there were people around, and they were like yup, and it was near the stage so I was like huh, that's a pretty unassuming finish line. So I guess I won, right before the finish line, without even realizing it xD. But yeah I got my free powder pack (brought it back home as a souvenir... or a surprise explosion muahaha) and then hung around with my friend afterwards who kept trying to make a big deal out of the fact that I finished first. He kept saying that I should get some prize, even though it's clearly publicized as a fun run that has no timing or prizes or anything. But it was still fun, made me feel fast xD. I guess my 1 week of training paid off haha. Also the terrain was really nice, flat and packed dirt that reminded me of riverside. ~3.5mi total.
Also made a pie because it was pie day. Ofc.

Thursday, February 5, 2015

So (not) ready for this

Mon 2/2: Off.

Tue 2/3: Crossfit. Agh why do I work so hard, legs tired and sore now. ~1.5mi after.
PM: Played a bit of easy easy DDR. This shouldn't even count.

Wed 2/4: Off again. This makes me sound really lazy...

Thu 2/5: Shoreline Lake, ~5mi. No crossfit so I can let my legs recover.

Fri 2/6: It was raining really had so ran on the treadmill. 20min, ~2.5mi. Did a few strides at 12mph.

Sat 2/7: Race day! Went out a bit too fast in the 1500, split like 71, 72, then something for a 4:37. 1 second faster than last year at this meet so not horrible I guess. The race was just Diddy, Jared, Iggy, and me so I clearly got last xD. Was really tired after and the 800 got moved up so I scratched that. Good thing too since the only person who ran it did 2:00. Ran the 4x4 in the coaches' team and split 61, 1 second slower than last year (even though I ran the 3k last year), so I'm guessing my recovery is really bad and I was still tired from the 15. Iggy ran 56 and Caleb got some help from Ben in the last 200 so we actually beat the sprinters haha. ~7mi total.
Amigos then karaoke afterwards with Jama, Carrie, Stacy, Allen, and Jama's roommate. Yay so much fun!

Dangerous

Mon 1/26: AM: Moffet Field Bay Trail, ~4.5mi easy, just getting used to forefoot running.
PM: Easy DDR. Doing lot of reverse/split. Got a star on split!

Tue 1/27: AM: Crossfit! Told the instructor not to do squats because they hurt my groin haha, felt a lot better. Ran ~1.5mi after.
PM: Easy DDR. More fun with mods, passed crazy loop on reverse! Groin finally doesn't hurt anymore!

Wed 1/28: Ulistac, ~3.7mi, 27min. Ran 5x(30s on, 90s off) and then 2min on (10min warmup, 5min cooldown). The main reason I wanted to do this was to see if there were any problems with forefoot running at 800/1500m pace. I'm still not confident about my landing form though. It seems like my heel should still touch down, but it feels kind of awkward. I'll figure it out eventually.

Thu 1/29: Crossfit, wasn't too bad today. Rotated like 6 different activities. Ran ~1.5mi after.
PM: Biked to Castro and back (~45min total), got my bike fixed and had dinner with Ed. Bought a light and everything so now I can commute via bike to work! Also fell while biking :(.

Fri 1/30: Basketball.

Sat 1/31: 6x400m workout! Got Adrian Wilcox HS track all to myself, was really nice. Was originally gonna do 7, but I went out too hard and also started getting a blister (first time in spikes). Ran 69, 71, 72, 72, 73, 72 going every 3min. I guess I'm happy with the speed at which I ran, but the intensity on the first two was definitely too high. 15min warmup, 20min cooldown. ~6mi total. Got AYCE KBBQ afterwards! :D

Sun 2/1: Ran 56min, ~7mi. Explored a lot, through Santa Clara Golf Course, up around America Center Drive, and then finally back via Guadalupe River Trail. Played DDR after also, so tired need to rest tomorrow, especially with lack of sleep over the weekend.

Psh who needs miles

Pretty crazy how I've only been running 20 miles a week and still keeping up with everyone running 40-50. I have a feeling they'd smoke me come April, but that doesn't matter because the alumni meet is in 2 weeks ;P.

Mon 1/19: Full Arroyo, ~10mi. It's been a while since I ran this :). Ran with John and Elliot, fun stuffs. Apparently averaged ~7:30 pace.

Tue 1/20: Off. Couldn't go to crossfit because had a sprint planning meeting :(.

Wed 1/21: AM: ~3.7mi, Ulistac again.
PM: Some DDR, took it easy and played lots of 9's.

Thu 1/22: Crossfit! Ran ~1.5mi after.

Fri 1/23: AM: Levi's, ~3mi.
PM: Basketball!

Sat 1/24: Greenbelt again, ~11mi. Pain everywhere, specifically groin (from crossfit squats I think...) and arch. I'm worried that I may be developing plantar fasciitis. 20 minutes into my runs, my arch starts hurting out of nowhere. The pain is pretty bad on every step, and rolling my foot doesn't seem to do anything. It's really weird because it doesn't hurt normally, only after I've been running for a while. Good news is that it doesn't hurt when I land forefoot, so I guess it's finally to change my form... which uses calves a lot more so now that's sore too.

Sun 1/25: Off. Groin still hurts... Marathoned the rest of Steins;gate!

Visiting Tech!

Mon 1/12: Off.

Tue 1/13: Crossfit! Felt pretty good today, thankfully not sore afterwards.

Wed 1/14: Ran through Fairway Glen and Ulistac, ~3.7mi.

Thu 1/15: Fartlek, SLL, ~4.5mi. Did 4 x ~30sec on, pretty much went / stopped whenever I felt like it. Fartleks feel a lot more fun without a watch ;P Also the rewards/swag stores opened so I bought a bunch of stuff, including a FREE WELLNESS HOODIE! Also went overboard and bought new running shoes, singlet, and shorts from running warehouse.

Fri 1/16: Paintball, does it really count?

Sat 1/17: AM: At tech! Traffic was really bad... got stuck on the 5 for like 2 hours not moving... After 4 hours of sleep, did 5x3on, 3off, 5x2on, 3off. Supposed to be 8k pace for the 3on and 5-3k pace for the 2on (getting faster each time). Apparently ran around 5:30 for the 3ons, so was probably pretty accurate (aka a little fast ;P). Ran the first few with Ane, but then his foot started acting up. Ran pretty much the rest with Elliot until the last one when I caught up with Jared and Eric. I thought it was 3 of each instead of 5 at first so I started speeding up on the 4th one... but somehow I managed to keep up the pace. Ran so hard... ~10.5mi.
PM: DDR with Allen and Grace in the SAC!

Sun 1/18: MOAR DDR!

4 weeks

Caltech All-Comers Meet in 4 weeks, on 2/7! It's $10 for unlimited events, so might as well do the 15, 8, and 4x4. This is possibly the worst prepared I've been for an actual track meet while healthy, so I definitely don't want to do the 3k (longer = needs more mileage, which I definitely don't have).

Mon 1/5: Off.

Tue 1/6: Crossfit! Pecs/triceps so sore... did so many pushups, pullups, and dips. Ran ~1.5mi after.

Wed 1/7: Ran Shoreline Lake loop, ~4.5mi.

Thu 1/8: Crossfit! Pecs still sore from Tuesday, but luckily we did different exercises today... lots of squats, v sits, and swimmers.

Fri 1/9: Basketball and DDR. Groin, hip flexor, and abs pretty sore.

Sat 1/10: Why am I still sore. Rolled out a bunch and had to start taking ibuprofen. Levi's loop, ~3.1mi, 26min.

Sun 1/11: Explored Central Park! 90min, ~11.5mi! Long run felt good, those ibuprofens probably helped haha (took 2 Sat night, 2 Sun morning, 2 Sun afternoon, 2 Sun night). Feel kind of bad about it though... hopefully won't have to take any more later.

Happy New Year!

Mon 12/29: Off, legs pretty tired from yesterday

Tue 12/30: Had a pretty awesome run, to Yellow Lake long way, then Klahanie Park Trail, to PLMS, around the track a few times (the gate was open), and back home. ~7.3mi, ~60min.

Wed 12/31: Yellow Lake, ~3.9mi. Did 5x30sec every 2 min fartlek, felt pretty good during but was really tired going up the hill so ran that pretty slow. ~34min.

Thu 1/1: Happy New Year! Ran to 24 fitness, swam for around 20min, and ran back. ~3mi running total.

Fri 1/2: Played some DDR.

Sat 1/3: ~3.1mi, ~24min. Tech reunion! Played a bit of DDR and Crypt of the NecroDancer.

Sun 1/4: Long run! 68min, ~8.5mi! Felt really good, San Tomas Aquino Creek Trail to El Camino, around Calabazas and Cabrillo then back. Want to run to Central Park next time, only a bit farther!
