Mon 9/2: AM: JPL run starting from Rose Bowl. 9.5mi in 80min, slow overall b/c uneven footing and lots of hills. Ran last mi fast in 7:15 with David. Was only supposed to go 32min out but felt really good so went the whole 42.
PM: Labor day so no practice. Mannion dinner though ;P. Groin and hip flexors really really really sore. Also sharp pain to the touch on outside of R knee, not sure why...
Tue 9/3: AM: Walked into the trainer's and was surprised by the sudden spike in number. Seems like our injured number just quadrupled from the JPL run... at least the guys' team still looks pretty healthy. 4x1200 at Lacy every 7min. 4:37, 4:30, 4:31, 4:23, took a long time to get warmed up. Apparently I went similar pace as Scott so wasn't a bad workout. ~6.5mi total. Team did Oak Groves but Andres said not to do the hills b/c of pain on other IT band. Outside of R knee (IT band?) pain and groin/hip flexor soreness were present throughout but manageable.
PM: 20min bike. Groin and hip flexors so bad... At least R knee/IT band doesn't hurt too much while biking.
Wed 9/4: AM: Huntingson up Los Robles, 6.1mi, 48min. Funny, didn't feel faster than 8min pace. Wasn't feeling great, especially in sore spots. I really hope it's not strained, but Sally says full range of motion = just soreness so gonna keep fingers crossed. Didn't do strides to be safe.
PM: 25min bike, felt really easy. Skipped out on theraband barn stuff. Feeling excited for tomorrow's San Marino hills!
Thu 9/5: AM: San Marino Hills, just the first 6. Probably ~7mi, I'll map it out later. Lots of waiting to regroup so went really fast up the hills. Felt decently good. Just normal L IT band pain after icing, but everything else seems to be getting better.
PM: 20min bike.
Fri 9/6: AM: Garfield Long Way, 5.7mi. I think pretty much every single recovery run I ask the time when we're done and it ends up being almost exactly 8min pace. It's like clockwork now.
PM: 15min bike. P90x is entertaining haha.
Sat 9/7: AM: 7.5k tempo at the arroyo: 9:57, 9:53, 9:44 for each 2.5k lap, 29:34 overall. Slower than I was hoping, but ohh well, still pretty solid. Felt pretty good throughout but guess I just ran out of gas... wanted to keep up with Jared on the last lap but guess it wasn't meant to be. L IT band hurting pretty bad after the CD. ~11mi.
Total: 45.8mi + 80min bike.
54mi equivalent.
